How Olelo Appointment Confirmation SMS Works
Olelo Intelligence ("Olelo") provides AI-powered conversation intelligence and appointment management tools to auto repair shops and other service-based businesses. As part of our service, we send transactional SMS text messages to customers of our participating shops to confirm and remind them of scheduled appointments. This page explains exactly how that process works, how we obtain your consent, what messages you can expect, and how to opt out.
Quick summary
Olelo sends appointment confirmation and reminder text messages on behalf of our participating auto repair shops.
We do not send marketing, promotional, or sales messages on this campaign.
You will only receive these messages if you verbally consent during a phone call to one of our participating shops.
Consent is captured by either a service advisor or our AI Voice Agent during the booking call. Every booking call is recorded and the consent exchange is logged.
A technical control called the "Send Gate" prevents any text message from being sent unless a documented consent record is on file for your phone number.
You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or reply HELP for assistance.
How we obtain your consent
When you call one of our participating auto repair shops to book a service appointment, the call is answered either by a service advisor or, in after-hours and overflow situations, by our AI Voice Agent. Before any text messages are sent to you, we ask for your verbal consent on the call.
Service advisor verbal consent script
When a human service advisor takes your booking call, they will ask you the following — or substantially similar — language:
"We can send you a text message to confirm your appointment and let you reschedule if you need to. Is it okay if we text you at this number?"
A text message will only be sent if you verbally agree.
AI Voice Agent verbal consent script
When our AI Voice Agent takes your booking call, it will ask you the following — or substantially similar — language:
"Is it okay if we send you a text message to confirm your appointment at this number?"
A text message will only be sent if you verbally agree.
How your consent is documented
Every booking call placed to a participating Olelo shop is recorded and transcribed as part of the shop's normal business operations. The audio of your consent exchange and the transcribed text are timestamped and retained for twenty-four (24) months in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Olelo's platform applies a technical control called the Send Gate that blocks any SMS from being dispatched unless a documented consent record is on file for the recipient's phone number.
What messages you will receive
If you consent during the booking call, you can expect the following types of messages from the shop you booked with, sent through Olelo's SMS platform:
